Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have a dance background to take classes?
A: No dance experience is needed. We always start with the basics in our level 1 classes. Our goal is to teach you the basic steps and have fun while learning them.

Q: What if I am not fit and don’t have a lot of upper body strength?
A: No Problem, we are here to help you get fit and gain strength. Pole dancing is a full body workout. You’ll gain strength, flexibility, toning, and cardiovascular benefits all while having a ton of fun. We are here to teach you everything you need to know to get stronger quickly.

Q: What do I wear and is there nudity?
A: There is no nudity allowed at Fit Body & Pole. We ask that you wear fitted shorts and a tank top. In the lower levels you may wear yoga pants. As you advance through the levels you need more skin exposed to grip to the pole. Fabric causes slipping therefore, short shorts, tank tops, and sports bras are allowed in the higher levels.

Q: Do I bring my heels to class?
A: Heels are not a requirement, however, they do add weight to your workout. In level 1 we dance with bare feet and in level 2 you have the option of wearing heels. Please note that street shoes/heels will not be permitted. Only dance shoes/”stripper shoes” with a ankle strap, no higher then 6 inches, and grips on soles will be allowed in the studio. We sell appropriate shoes at the studio.

Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: Yes, classes have limited space because we do not share poles.  All classes require registration and payment in advance. This allows our instructors to get classes started on time. We do not have a front desk so our instructors do all the checking in.

Q:What else should I know?
A: Do not apply lotion to your body the day you are to dance. The lotion comes out of your skin when you start to perspire and causes the pole to be very slippery. Please remember to leave your Jewerly at home for it gets in the way, can cause injury, and scratches the poles.
